8 ways to use Google Classroom
1. Push links out to students: You can push out a specific website, and student’s computers will be redirected to that website automatically by google.
2. Make your own “delicious”: A class collection of websites visited frequently is very handy.
3. Keep a calendar: Google Classroom now makes a google calendar for each class you create. When you created an assignment, it appears on the calendar
4. Share your class with another teacher: This way, when you put an assignment online, not only does the other teacher have access to due dates, but also any attached material/directions.
5. Set due dates/times on assignments: When students turn in an assignment it becomes yours. They can unsubmit, but if they unsubmit and alter the assignment after it is due, the assignment will be marked late.
6. See who has been diligently working: You can see a somewhat real time shot of all of the students work attached to an assignment. This will allow you to encourage those who are falling behind in the assignment
7. Refer absent students to Google Classroom: You can simply point absent students to Google Classroom. Or, if you have that student who would rather be at school, he/she can be working on assignments at home while you are working on them in class
8. Reuse posts from previous years/classes: Not very useful for everyday stuff, but if you have a big assignment with lots of attachments, this will be handy.
