7 Google Form Tips: Responses


Google Forms is a great resource to gather responses. Below are 7 tips to help you better manage and collect these responses.

How to view responses by question: This feature allows you to view all answers per question.
  • Open a form in Google Forms
  • Click 'Responses' at the top of the form
  • Click on 'Summary'
How to view responses by person: This feature allows you to see responses by each individual. 
  • Open a form in Google Forms
  • Click 'Responses' at the top of the form
  • Click on 'Individual'
How to view responses in a spreadsheet: This feature allows you to see responses in a Google Sheet.
  • Open a form in Google Forms
  • Click 'Responses' at the top of the form
  • Click on spreadsheet icon on the top right
How to download all responses as CSV file: This feature allows you to download all the responses as a csv file. You can then important this file into a spreadsheet software of your choice.
  • Open a form in Google Forms
  • Click 'Responses' at the top of the form
  • Click on 'More' and select 'Download responses (csv)'
How to stop collecting responses: This feature allows you to stop collecting responses for your form.
  • Open a form in Google Forms
  • Click 'Responses' at the top of the form
  • Turn off 'Accepting responses'
How to turn on/off response notifications: This feature allows you to turn on and off email responses. It is useful if you are getting 100's of responses.
  • Open a form in Google Forms
  • Click 'Responses' at the top of the form
  • Click on 'More' and select 'Get email notifications for new responses'
How to collect respondents email addresses: This feature allows you to collect email address from your respondents. Anyone who fills in your form will be prompted to provide their email.
  • Open a form in Google Forms
  • Click 'Responses' at the top of the form
  • Check the box next to 'Collect email address'
